Dana Greene

Dana Greene

Decatur Library Auditorium

November 5th , 7:15 P.M.

We are pleased to host Dana Greene, the Dean Emerita of Emory University’s Oxford College, with a major new literary biography, ”Denise Levertov: A Poet’s Life,” published by the University of Illinois Press. This is an authoritative portrait of one of the central figures in American poetry in the last 50 years. Critics say the biography ”illuminates invaluable connections between the poet’s interior life and her work.” Greene writes with great sensitivity and understanding, offering not only a thoughtful, considered examination of Levertov’s life but her body of work as well. Greene’s previous books include ”Evelyn Underhill: An Artist of the Infinite Life,” ”The Life of Evelyn Underhill” and ”The Living of Maisie Ward.” We will have copies of her Levertov biography for sale and signing at this free event.
