Anthony Martin is a paleontologist, ichnologist and geologist who teaches at Emory University and whose fascinating new book ”Life Traces of the Georgia Coast” offers some amazing insights into life along our coastal waters. His book is subtitled, ”Revealing the Unseen Lives of Plants and Animals,” and anyone who has walked on one of the state’s gorgeous barrier island beaches will know there is a story behind the broken shell or a squiggle in the sand. The author gives readers absorbing details on how to interpret these marks and creatures, everything from birds to clams, snails, insects, reptiles and plants. The book is generously illustrated and written in a lively, accessible style. The author has studied modern traces and trace fossils from many parts of the world, ranging from 500 million to 5,000 years old, and has presented many public lectures on his areas of expertise. We know you’ll enjoy his special appearance here.
